Ready for Fall!

Max at the Spa

My friend Max Squirrel is ready for fall.

All summer long he has languished in his Summer Spa (my plant pot that once contained peppers for Johnnie and I to eat). He ate the peppers, removed the plant and arranged the soil to his liking.  On several occasions I tried to run him off...squirting water from my trusty water bottle, turning the dog loose....all of the NORMAL antics that would run off a squirrel.  Well that didn't work too well....he actually WELCOMED the sprays from the water bottle. The dog was no threat.

So I did what any NORMAL person would do under the circumstances... I got my camera!  Max would wait while I opened the glass sliding door telling the dog to SIT while I take pictures! We developed quite a relationship.  Of course I had to remember to SHUT the door because he would come right up to the door to come in.  A squirrel in the yard in my pot is one thing, but a squirrel in the house with the Labrador Retriever...well that's something else!

But now...both Max and I are looking for COOLER weather.  No more watering the Spa. Time to move on.

Bring on Fall!

elephants

I LOVE elephants!!!  Many many years ago I requested for Christmas (every year) a baby elephant and a pogo stick.  I finally got the pogo stick....but never the elephant :( .....excuses about no room or something like that!

This photo was taken at the Fort Worth Zoo in Fort Worth, TX.  Guess it's as close as I can get to having my very own elephant.

a long long time ago

Imagine my surprise and joy when I came upon this photo while I was looking for something else!!!

This photo was taken with Grandaddy's BLACK & WHITE Polaroid camera probably 1966-1967.  It was Grandaddy's camera but Grandma and I were the only ones allowed to use it. I don't think Grandaddy ever took a picture...he bought it for me to use.

This was taken at our farm in Marks, MS. Let's see....there's Grandma and Grandaddy, Momma and Daddy, Sidney, Lewis, Jim and Johnnie....and food of course :)  This brings back a lot of fun (and weird) memories. :)

I love it!

happy dust

Do you see it?  Do you see the happy dust on the canes???

For the past 4-5 years Johnnie has needed a cane to walk everywhere...in the yard, in the house, to the bathroom....E V E R Y W H E R E.  He was in constant pain from his knee along with the catching, grinding, popping associated with osteoarthritis of the knee.

In April of this year he opted to try the BioniCare Knee System.  It's a non-invasive treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee. It has been awesome!!! He has virtually no more pain in his knee.  He now walks around his yard, his house, even at night and the canes.....well they are collecting happy dust!  Oh yeah!!!
